Internet Safety
Internet Safety for Kids
Computers should always be in a common area of the house. Never place a computer with internet access in a bedroom or secluded area of the house, particularly not in a child's bedroom.

Is a website secure?
Before you enter your personal information into a website you will want to make sure that the page you enter your information on is secure. This is most commonly shown by a pad lock graphic on the browser, either in the bottom corners or next to the address bar. Another way to check to see if the site is secure is to look at the address to the site. If it starts with HTTPS then the page uses a SSL Certificate.
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology protects your Web site and makes it easy for customers to trust you.
- An SSL Certificate enables encryption of sensitive information during online transactions.
- Each SSL Certificate contains unique, authenticated information about the certificate owner.
- Every SSL Certificate is issued by a Certificate Authority that verifies the identity of the certificate owner.
